The Tuesday before the regular school board meeting, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., board members go to the school cafeteria so the public can meet with them. Though the attendance is sparse it gives Ms. Roberts (left), the fifth grade teacher, a chance to meet whit her mother Ms. Callahan — who is a board member.

The middle school needed to have a special election for moderator — after the pervious student became ineligible for the position. The middle school uses student government as a civic lesson: you have to register to vote, there are election officials, students must get petitions to run, etc. Seen here is Mr. Snide, principal, casting his ballot.

Eva Jean is one of two students who sing the national anthem before basketball games. The Orange thumped the Wells Indians 40-18 following the great vocals.

First the start of school was delayed two hours because of icy roads, then after 10 minutes a power line caught fire.
